Day Three San Francisco Part Two

We rushed away from the temptations of Union Street in an attempt to make it on time to Pier 39 to catch the ferry to Sausalito. Guess what? We missed the ferry trying to forge through the crowds in Fisherman's Wharf etc. But we just changed plans and took a cruise around the bay.

Can you see the sea lions as we begin our voyage?

Alcatraz...

city scenes...

Apparently you are underwater when you dine in this restaurant...

We sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge!

Here is a view of Marin County

Then we got up close to Alcatraz...

Finally we sailed into port

Back on shore we walked our way back towards the Ferry Building.

We were invited to stop and see the Americas Cup Park, celebrating this huge sailing race so we briefly did!

Finally we were back to the Ferry Building.

We thought we would go up to Grace Cathedral so we went up into the financial district, California Street.

But when we saw how steep the climb was, we decided we were tired and were ready to return "home" instead.

Having walked 14 kilometres we decided to dine at a Japanese restaurant just up the street.

After dinner I discovered our rent a car was booked for 12:00 am rather than pm we had a problematic hour trying to straighten this out but eventually we did.And another great day came to an end
