Whistler Part Three

This is my third trip up to Whistler this fall.  And my second trip in a week!  I just love the colour up here and it's ahead of Vancouver's leaves changing so I kind of like that as well.

This time again I just came up for an overnight at Club Intrawest with two friends.  It wasn't that great a day in Vancouver nor was it a sunshiny ride up here but the mist gives a different affect.  Our first stop was Nitka Lake Lodge for lunch.  It really is such a pretty spot.

Then Val and Sandy hadn't been to Scandinave Spa so I took them for a look!  The grounds are so pretty.

After that we settled in at Club Intrawest, and went for a swim and enjoyed the hot tub and sauna.

Later we  had a delicious dinner at the Rimrock Cafe as they had a special fall menu with a delicious four course meal for $45.  It was a perfect evening.  This was my appetizer-roquefort iceberg lettuce

My two housemates were sound asleep so I went for a morning walk in the Upper Village and took a few pictures!

The Fairmont is peaking behind that tree!

Here you can see Club Intrawest

I always like the displays outside the liquor store!

A line of red trees...

leaves

blazing trees

I loved the walkway here in the Upper Village

I returned and we had breakfast and then we decided to drive up to Pemberton

Green Lake was rather spectacular along the way...

Mount Currie was peaking out but later disappeared behind the clouds...

After our trip to Pemberton we returned to the Lower Village at Whistler in search of a bit of shopping and lunch

I love this picture...

It was time to head back to Vancouver but we all enjoyed our mini holiday and the autumn colour!

Spectacular Whistler in October, 2014

One of the nice things about Whistler is it is only about a beautiful two hour drive from Vancouver.  A few years ago I learned how beautiful it is there in October.

My friend, Sue, has just retired, and I suggested we go up overnight this week on Wednesday.  We had lunch at one of my favourite places, Nitka Lake Lodge.  With the help of blankets and a heater we happily dined outside.

We left our car at Club Intrawest in the Upper Village of Whistler and had a nice walk over to Lost Lake.

The leaves were spectacular.

Below you can see Club Intrawest hiding behind the leaves.

This was the view from our suite.  I think you can see a bit of Chateau Whistler as well as Club Intrawest.

I had a swim and below is one of the trees from the pool area.

It was a full moon that night!

It was a beautiful morning as well.

We went into the Lower Village and walked around and of course, I took a few pictures...

It was a short but lovely get away...
