And it did look as beautiful as I had imagined. We checked into our hotel, a Sheraton. A group was going to a seafood dinner but Sue and I hadn't signed up for that, but we did get a lift on the bus and were dropped off in central Lisbon.

We loved the atmosphere and the statutes. That is Dom Pedro IV up there. He was King of Portugal and the first Emperor of Brazil.

We came along to a street of restaurants. Waiters were trying to entice us with their menus.
I ended up having lamb and it was very tasty. We were a bit surprised to be charged for bread!
Then we had dessert, you guessed it custard tarts-actually I think I had a coconut one at the popular Sucio cafe.
And then we walked home-above is the National Theatre.
It was very pretty all lit up on Avenida Da Liberdade.
This is the place to shop at all the designer stores.
It was a nice ending to a lovely day.
