After returning to Monterey, it was time to do a bit of exploring. We were right on the historic trail and we began at California's first theatre-it isn't open but there is a lovely garden to explore.
By the way Monterey was California's first capital!
Don't you love how this company pays homage to Steinbeck, a famous former resident of Monterey!
Across the street was another lovely garden and historic buildings and a museum.
Then we heard 50's music playing and then we saw...
Some very well kept cars!
Soon we were at the waterfront
And on Fisherman's Wharf-free samples of clam chowder everywhere and Happy Hour seemed to be all day!
Next we walked up the Public Wharf where serious fishing was occurring.
After a bit of a hassle with our safe we were off to dinner and a movie!
I should have taken a picture of the movie theatre as it had lots of good movies but our particular theatre was the smallest I have ever seen!
Bright and early we were off on our way to return our car and explore Oakland!
