autumn in Vancouver

Mornings have been very foggy for the last while as you may notice in these pictures! Yesterday I walked over to my favourite early morning coffee shop, Liberty Cafe and was struck by how many people in the neighbourhood were really into decorating for Halloween but as usual on my walks I was struck by the beauty, natural and man made in the small piece of the world where I spend the most time.

Looking down my street to Cambie

Looking east to the next block

old and knew hidden partly by autumn colours

a canopy of colour

So many leaves and I even videoed them to record the satisfying crunching sound. Having grown up in the beautiful Eastern Townships of Quebec it is one of my favourite sounds, that shuffle as you walk through them

In Vancouver flowers are still blooming-no frost yet...

This is a rather unique household, the buttons advertising Culture Days. His home was part of Main Street area's Culture Days' celebration when you can visit local artists homes. His is quite different than most!

next door is one of the neighbourhood's prettiest gardens I always admire.

above is in the same garden...

I love the backdrop of fog in contrast to the brightness...

I think I have missed this one in my Halloween post...

I love faux art which you would know if you read my posts on Bushmill's in Northern Ireland. Here there are real businesses-a chocolate shop and a cafe.

This is a window display from a charming shop, Barefoot Contessa

and just outside on Main I spotted this bike

Brilliant colours...

Up close and personal...

I found these beautiful leaves I think on Main between 21st and 22nd.

I love this funny little garden. The houses east of Ontario are older than west of Ontario and The streets are narrower.

I love the colour contrast here

I love the different shades here

the texture

Still blooming brightly

in this older area there are still some dirt lanes-the neighbours sometimes actually want to keep them that way

sigh...

i just had to post the ghost tree again

so beautiful...

I think the fog adds to the beauty of 22nd Avenue

Love these red berries...

I think the fence and deck add to this picture

apparently these really are magic mushrooms that can have you hallucinating and becoming ill

But definitely a great picture here. I had never seen this variety here before.

so much great landscaping...

my good friend once lived in this pretty house

And now I am bringing you back home.
